Alcohol Controversy
The City of Iowa City recently passed a law prohibiting anyone under 21 from being in a bar past a certain hour. This caused an uproar on campus and bar owners. House parties increased in number since. If you don't mind staying in to have drinks, then everything is fine.

Be Prepared to Find Your Own Financial Aid
The school is reasonably priced, but if you want to find additional financial aid, be prepared not to get additional help from the school. They let you know about the loans and pell grants, but anything more, you need to know about yourself.
