Becoming Involved in Miami's Culture
Miami's culture is a culmination of the many cultures brought here by foreigners. Living on campus, you are immersed in the different languages and customs of your peers. There are many museums that present the artifacts and lifestyles of your friends' ancestors and concert halls allow your ear to extend its experience.

As an Undergraduate Freshman
As an Undergraduate Freshman in Biology, a very general major, it is difficult to receive a personalized education with one-on-ones with your professor or extended time with your adviser. With so many students that applied to the University, many do it for the benefit of the Biology Department causing overcrowding in the major to actually reap the full benefits of help needed to get into Graduate Medical school.

The variety in sports are great, ranging from crew to fencing to football and tennis. The nearby Health Fitness Center (literally across the street from the Freshman dorms) offers a gym, indoor pool, racquetball courts, basketball courts, indoor track, etc. so even if you are not active in any sports you can still get your game on any time you are not at classes or studying.
