Food Near Is Limited but Not Bad
Touring the school the cuisine was kind of on the back burner. Going to this university you quickly get tired of the repetitive dining hall meals, and alternatives are quickly found. Within a few blocks you can find your typical late night greasy drunk food options. In addition to late night dining for the typical drunk, there is a food close and delicious. Chipoltle, a myriad of Indian Food Restaurants, Five Guys, Subway, etc. There is not a ton of options but those available seem to be pretty good.

DIVERSE
A variety of cultures, ethnicities, sexualities, etc. My friends come from much different homes and places than I did; that being said, the school fosters this diversity well and makes it a perfect melting pot. You meet so many different characters and the only thing homogeneous about the school is the fact that the people are so nice and overall great friends.

Have a Drink & Smoke If You Do That
The drug scene at Loyola is whatever you make it. Alcohol is available, although the University has cracked down on it more, and for the most part inexpensive. Parties happen mostly at apartments and are as fun as you make them for yourself. Students are generous and are happy to lend you a beer if you want it. Besides alcohol other drugs are present, most notably weed. It's common to see a water pipe or some paraphernalia being passed around at a party, that said I don't believe its HUGE at Loyola. The drug scene is there, but really it's nothing that would worry a parent and resembles that of most institutions. For a medium sized Catholic School its drug scene is about the same as a typical state university, if that makes sense.
