Local Atmosphere at Creighton University

A-

Depends Where You Look

Omaha is a pretty god city. Creighton itself is not in the best areas, but it is a short drive away from Old Market, Midtown, and a bunch of other places. Old Market is a downtown area with restaurants, shops, and bars. Its nearly always packed so the worst thing about Old Market is that you will need to plan on probably 20 minutes to find parking minimum on the weekends unless you get lucky or are willing to pay for parking. Midtown is a new build-up with restaurants, apartments, some shops, and a movie theater. During the summer Jazz on the Green happens there every Thursday. Plus Creighton is near the Qwest Center, Sokol Underground, and other venues that have great concerts as well as places that have broadway and local shows. Creighton isn't particularly near a grocery store which is a hassle sometimes. Its a city so safety is always a concern. Campus is pretty safe, but still walking alone at night is just asking for problems, much like any city, anywhere. Also for students looking to get internships there are so many opportunities within Omaha and many local businesses are really receptive to Creighton students. You will need a car (or a friend with a car) but overall Creighton is a great city.

Off-Campus Dining at Creighton University

Eating at Creighton

Omaha is home to a ton of food options and Creighton is surrounded by a lot of places, just you will need a car to get to nearly all of them. Lisa's Radial Cafe is great for breakfast and Old Market is an area filled with great restaurants. My personal favorite is Spaghetti Works in Old Market. There are a lot of options as far as prices go and variety is definitely available in Omaha, if you want it, odds are you can find it.
