Hunter Computer Labs

Labs are always crowded, especially the Student Resource Center which provides free printing. The line in the SRC for printing consistently frames the entire lab. Luckily there are several other computer labs at Hunter includingn in the Library, Writing Lab, Foreign Language Lab, and other various computer labs. Although none of these provide free printing. It can also get annoying when the labs are reserved for classes, leaving fewer passtime options for the avid class skippers. Nonethelss there is always a computer available somewhere at Hunter. There's even computers in the hallways!

Pricey. Unnescessarily pricey. A home-made sandwhich on toast bread is $5. I can get a bigger sandwhich from Subways down the block for the same price. Yes their is much variety from pizza, sushi, salads, curly fries, yogurt parfait....it doesn't matter, all of it is over-priced.Even the apples are a dollar each. Only go to the cafeteria as a last resort, you'd be better off going down the street.

Scholarships at CUNY Hunter College

Financing Your Education

If you're parents make over $50,000 a year, you can forget about receiving anything more than the cost of an ipod. However, I've met a handful of students that literally go to school for free! However, keeping your grades up is must for this.

1. Get into McCauley Honors Program. Them students got it made.

2. By your sophmore year, start applying to scholarships and fellowships. There's a ton of programs on the Hunter Website that offer full tuition.

3. Don't forget to fill out your FaFSA. And you're sort of on your own with scholarships. If you don't look it up or ask about them, they won't tell you. I know there's a bunch I wish I had applied for, but now it's my senior year and it's too late. Alot of the scholarships are for sophmores and Juniors.

You kind of have to do all the work yourself. Because there are so many psych majors, psych advisers only answer specific questions. They're not really there for general guidance or support, in fact if you want to move forward you kind of have to figure things out yourself and come up with your own plan. Even the resources (such as scholarships, internships, fellowships, etc.) they do have, you may only become aware of them if you ask a specific question in relation to them. This makes it more difficult for many to graduate on time and feel prepared for the next step of their lives. Students become quickly overwhelmed with organizing the here and now, instead of their futures.
