The Vibrant City of Atlanta
Atlanta is a great place to be. Around Tech are several other universities (Emory, GSU, etc.) as well as a plethora of entertainment and leisure options. Examples are the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coke, the famous Vortex, the Masquerade, and Atlantic Station. However, if the city is too much, Tech's campus is secluded enough that one can stay on campus and be completely separate from city life. Georgia Tech in the middle of Atlanta is a great place to be; it is a college campus on its own, and it is surrounded by a vibrant culture.

An Institute With Athletic Prowess
Georgia Tech is the only "institute" with division 1-A sports. Best of all, they're good at it. Football is always a big deal, and Tech is a contender in the ACC, and they have gone to a bowl game 14 years running. Tech baseball has had several players go into the majors (Nomah, Jason Varitek, Mark Texiera), and Tech basketball competes will in the premier league of the ACC. Tech is a great athletic college, let alone a science and engineering school.
