Computer Reliability at Ball State University
The computers at the library are up-to-date and have very good Internet connections. There are some times during the year when it is difficult to find an open computer such as: midterm and final exam week, some evenings during the week, and when there are power outages in neighborhoods. The network is very reliable, and I have never had a problem with the Internet connection.

Best Options
There have been a lot of renovations to dorms in the past few years that have improved on-campus housing. The best options, as well as most modern, are Dohority, Park, and Kinghorn Halls. The most social dorms are the older dorms, which I would recommend for freshman. These social dorms include Lafollette, Noyer, and Wilson Halls.

Transportation Convenience
There are a few options for transportation on campus. One is the shuttle bus system that is very reliable and follows a specific route through the center of campus and to parking lots. The second is the MITS bus that is free for students and goes through campus. It also goes to off-campus locations like Wal-Mart, the mall, and other bus stops. The third option is Charlie's Charter that is similar to a taxi, but free for students and is usually needed at night when students do not feel safe walking or if the weather is unpleasant.
