Great Learning Oppurtunities, Some Large Classes

The professors at are willing to help and connect with students. I am a biology major. The curriculum is demanding, topics are covered in depth, all my teachers have pHDs. Most professors try to engage the class, even in lecture halls. Teachers use black board, an online application which allows them to post grades, study guides and notes. Sometimes students are tempted to skip class and just check blackboard instead. The course selection is varied allowing for both required classes, and fun classes like beer brewing and history of rock and roll. Environmental sciences classes are known to be some of the best. Lecture classes of large sizes are required freshmen and sophomore year. Research opportunities are available for science majors, studying abroad is popular.

Facilities at University of Vermont

B

Facilities: Some Old, Some New.

I was a varsity athlete the past two years. The pool, indoor track, and turf are sub par. The gym overlooks the mountains but can sometimes get very crowded. The Davis Center is new, built in 2007 It is mostly used as a building to walk through or wait a couple of hours before your next class. The four floored library has wi-fi and desk top computers. Intramural sports, and clubs are popular amongst students. Ski club is the largest club on campus. Construction is always being done on campus, but half the buildings still need to be redone.

Off-Campus Dining at University of Vermont

A

Church Street!!

Church street is the heart of down town located about a half a mile from campus. It is filled with restaurants both fancy and casual. A lot of the restaurants are pricey, but are great for when the parents come to visit!! Off of church street a lot of cheaper restaurants can be found. For grocery stores there is a price chopper, city market, and Hanofords.

Biology at UVM!

The teachers are very helpful and really know their stuff. The students study with each other because the biology major community is pretty small. Freshmen year is the hardest, they really test you with general chemistry. Freshmen and sophomore year consist of general classes. Junior and senior year allow for specialized biology classes and research opportunities.

Computers at University of Vermont

C+

Wireless on Campus, Not in Dorms.

Gaining internet and computer access in the library is easy. The dorms do not have wifi. Library gets very crowded finals week. Computer labs are available for business majors.

Nightlife at University of Vermont

A-

Parties Are Everywhere, but Are Ticketed/Charged

Frats have ticketed parties where you have to pay in advance. Downtown bars are fun, many people have fakes. Bus on weekends runs to 2 in the morning, cabs are easy to find. Juniors and seniors live off campus and throw parties.
