University of Texas - Austin Campus Dining was reviewed by kstacy93

Eh. Ok. Not Stellar. The dining halls are pretty good, but the meal plan does not include enough money to eat at a dining hall for every meal. Markets in Jester and Kinsolving offer a more limited but more accessible source of on campus food. But the prices are high enough that the meal plan won't last the whole year if you eat there every day. A couple food carts and restaurants in the area also take the meal plan, and these are good if you crave something different.

Plan II Honors and College of Liberal Arts – I am in the Plan II Honors Program, which is its own degree. My college and degree both offer programs and activities. The College of Liberal Arts has a good career center with people who know how to tweak resumes and work on interview skills. The Plan II program has a lot of activities for its students, like ice cream socials and day trips. The Plan II class load is cross-curricular and interesting. Some classes are in classrooms, some are seminar-style.

They're OK, but Move Out ASAP – I lived in Kinsolving, because I wanted a quiet and semi-small living space. It was exactly what I wanted. Overall, the dorms are generally nice, though some are older than others. The cost is outrageous, so I am moving off-campus next semester. It was a good experience, so I recommend it if one can swing the money for it, but move out as soon as you can. The dorms are fun to live in; their staff regularly put on events. They really are teeny tiny communities.

Austin Is Awesome – World class academics. Professors who know what they are talking about. Registration is kind of a crapshoot, but I don't think that's really any different at other large universities. Lots of libraries and places to meet for group study. Overall, a good atmosphere for academics to do their thing.

Austin Is Awesome – Austin is a happy city and a fun place to live and study. Festivals happen nearly every weekend, and many of then are free to enter. The public transportation system is extensive, and also free with a student ID. Everyone loves UT students.
