Learning So Much
Every class I attend, I feel like I receive so much knowledge in so little time. That being said, I am a Nursing major, but the professors here know what they're talking about. Registration sucks as a freshman, though, because you never get the ideal schedule you want.

Late Night Dining!
They just started late night dining at the Freshman dining hall this year, and it is meal I attend most. Perfect timing! Many people complain about the dining hall's repetition, but if you get creative, you can makes things taste new & delicious. The other places on campus (Food court, subway, STARBUCKS) aren't open all that late but still good timing. Thank god for Dining dollars!

I'm in Miami Bitch!
Never a dull night! It's Miami, so whether you want to travel to South Beach for crazy times, take the free campus drunk bus to the Grove (closer to campus), or just go to an off campus house party, it'll be a blast. Even without a fake, I have a ton of fun.

Melting Pot
I have never met a more diverse group of people in my life. The U represents over 150 different countries, and maybe it's just my group of friends but I would say everyone here is very accepting to culture, orientation, religion, etc. The minorities are the majority and I wouldn't want it any other way (coming from the majority)

Sofla = Beauty
You don't come here if you don't like the sun and the South. Being able to get tan all year round is amazing. Since being here, I've become such a Floridian that I think 70 is cold!! There's a lot of rain in the non-winter months but it becomes something you prepare for.

School of Nursing Is Great
The Nursing program here at the U is awesome. Our school is small, so professors give you a lot of personalized education and it is easy to meet with them or advisors. And of course a degree in Nursing will probably guarantee me a job! PLUS we just got these very advanced human simulators. Overall, the Nursing School is highly ranked.

My main point is-- You DONT have to join anything! No one will treat you differently. Many guys join frats because of the ease of partying and meeting girls, but girls can have a ton of fun with or without a sorority. They are pretty expensive to be in, so you have to decide your priorities.

Cracking Down
They have been getting a lot more strict about any type of drug (mostly other than alcohol) and the campus is progressively becoming smoke-free completely. It is definitely a strictly enforced drug free campus, even though basically everyone's drinking, it's just subtle. You can find friends that don't like getting messed up, or you can find friends that like the same drugs as you do.

Someone for Everyone
I've made some of the greatest friends of my life here. Everyone is beautiful (so if you have low self esteem, you may feel pressured to look good, but I advise you to LOVE YOURSELF) and because of the extreme diversity, you can find someone/ a group of friends that have the same interests as you.
