Beautiful Campus!
Cornell has the most beautiful campus among Ivy League schools. Not only because it is surrounded my beautiful (and scary--at times) gorges but also because it has gorgeous buildings on Central Campus. Freshmen live on North Campus, which has Appel Commons and RPCC. They serve as student centers, where you can participate in various activities like yoga, rap battles, etc. and use the mail service. Appel has Ezra's Cafe, which is decent, as well as a gym, and RPCC has Nasties, where you can grease yourself with burgers, fries, calzones, etc., and a computer lab (and study areas). Lots of people choose to stay on Central and study there, which is convenient.

Force Triples...
All freshmen live on North Campus, which is nice because you get to know your classmates better. However, North Campus is crazy far from most of classes, which are on Central. You need to leave at least 20 minutes ahead of time to be in class on time, which could be annoying as the weather gets cold (and early in the morning, in general). Rooms are okay, in terms of cleanness, but that's as long as you don't live in a force triple. Force triples are SO tiny that you will barely have enough space for anything. However, the community you become a part of and interactions you have with people (other freshmen mostly) are excellent.

Stupid New Rule About Frat Parties...
Although RAs talk about drinking in the dorms, they aren't really strict about it. It's okay as long as you don't get caught, and lots of people pre-game in their rooms before going out. There's an open field near the townhouses and low rises where people smoke. However, Cornell changed the rule so that freshmen aren't allowed to go to frat parties until after the rush week, which sucks. Some frats throw open parties (usually the lower tier ones), and you will find yourself drowning in all the freshmen trying to get in/ find drinks.

Hockey Is Pretty Big
There are many gym members and runners around the campus. Ice hockey is pretty big here, and it's pretty fun to go to the games.

It's Ok
If you are a girl wanting to get into parties for free drinks, then you will have it your way. There are parties every weekend (and every day if you want), and you can get a fair share of alcohol at parties. Many people have alcohol in their rooms, and most people pre-game in the rooms (wherever really...it just can't be too blatantly public) and get away with it. Peer pressure, not much. I know some people who choose not to drink and find their own ways of having fun on weekends in some other ways than getting drunk and going to parties.
