Business Management
There are always flyers and information about internship/job opportunities at UC Santa Cruz. The whole layout of what I need to do as a business major is extremely clear. The classes, such as Economics are available and have an extreme opening of seats available. The instructors are also helpful and always want to see you succeed. On top of that, they always have office hours, and the TA's are always available.

Bus, Shuttle, Parking
The buses at our school is very convenient. We have the school buses and also the city buses that run through the school, which means there is always buses running and its easy for the kids off campus to get to class. If you're a student and you have your id, you're on the bus for free whether it is the campus bus or the city bus. City buses charge if you don't have your id. Unfortunately for me, the area where I live doesn't have a bus line that goes from my apartment to campus, but I have a car, which is very convenient. Getting a parking permit is pretty expensive unless you purchase car-pool (when you share a permit with one, or a few other people. But, that means only one car can be parked on campus at a time). Because campus is at a higher elevation than the rest of the city, it does kill gas to drive up and down constantly, but thank god I have a gas saver Honda Accord.

UC SANTA CRUZ
I love the cleanliness of my school. It is extremely beautiful. I never visited UC Santa Cruz before my first day moving in, and to be honest I didn't like it at all. I'm from the city, so it was very different. But I grew to love the school. The students are down to earth and easy to get a long with. Being on campus is refreshing to me, the campus is like a town of its own. I love the school, I just wish we had a football team and had more school spirit. Although I love the school, the town itself is a little different. It's nice because it's slower, and different from Oakland. But there's not that many shopping resources, and the food is a bit expensive, and less diverse compared to Oakland. I've became alot more comfortable living in Santa Cruz, and am growing to love the beautiful beach town.

Nursing/Business
There is no nursing program at my school, which is pretty disappointing. And the counselors aren't really helpful at helping me with my career path. The prerequisite classes aren't available when I want them...which is also pretty disappointing. The business major, on the other, offers a lot of classes and these classes seem to always have a huge amount of space, which is good. I suggest going to talk to a counselor right when you enroll, to get on the right track right away. I though I could've did it without speaking to a counselor, but Beth Thompson has helped me a lot even though I've only met with her a few times.
