It's pretty good being a biology major. The professors in the biology department are all good people. They are willing to push you to your best abilities. They are also good connections to have while in college. They keep you informed and try to make sure your involved within your major.

The Mystery of HU Housing
Honestly, Hampton University does not have the best living arrangements. The dorms are much older than many of the buildings. They have tiled ceilings that fall through sometimes due to water damage. Some of the rooms suffer from mildew. They have community bathrooms that aren't that bad, but it depends on what dorm you end up in. You meet a lot of people with different stories and background. They may be come your life long friends. A lot of the dorms are near the water so the scenery is nice, but it can be a walk to class. You make what you can of the situation and enjoy yourself. Make it feel like home away from home.

It's an HBCU, but Diverse
Hampton University is known as on of the prestigious HBCU's. Its been around since the 1800s. The school has been diverse since the very start. It was actually founded by a Caucasian man by the name of General Chapman Armstrong. Hampton later on offered a program to Native American Tribes. Many came to attend Hampton, however they were segregated from the others. They eventually suffered from illness, interbreed, or left Hampton. They still have Native Americans today who talk about their experiences at Hampton. We have many of the Native American students who died due to illness buried in the school cemetery. Today Hampton is still diverse as ever before. Students come from far and wide within the U.S.A., as well as from foreign countries such as Germany, Italy, France, Spain, and Africa
