Ronoake Is "Quaint"

HOllins University is 20 minutes away from Downtown Ronoake. The city is what I would call "quaint." There's only a small block radius of "things to do" but there are always things happening! Saturday morning markets, No Shame Theatre, Studio Ronoake, cute boutique shops and a great chocolate/stationary store. Local attitude about hollins women is fairly positive. We've got a pretty large community following in terms of the University's theatrical productions, at least. Still, to get anywhere, you need a car. The shuttle does run downtown but it's somewhat unreliable.

Health & Safety at Hollins University

A-

Hollins Is Safe

Hollins is pretty safe. We have an honor code which keeps most of our students in check, and I feel totally safe walking around campus at night by myself. However, we have had at least one attempted rape and a few incidents of stealing while I've been on campus. However, seeing as it is an all-women campus, the only time men are on campus is if they're visiting their girlfriend or they've come to party, so the latter option usually yields some pretty drunk men not knowing where they are.

Transportation at Hollins University

The Shuttle Is a Grandma

The shuttle that goes to Grandin and Down-town Roanoke and the Valley View Mall is great, and I'm glad it exists. But it runs only until 10 o'clock! Nobody wants to get home at 10 on a friday, they want to leave campus at 10 on a friday! So it's good for like, the 8pm groccery store run or the 6pm dinner and a movie kinda thing but not really good to help party-hoppers avoid needing a DD.
