Safe Place to Be
Usually feel safe on campus and downtown, can be somewhat deserted late at night (with scattered crowds of Greeks staggering back to their houses). Several incidents have occurred in parking garages and by the columns (west campus) in the wee hours of the morning.

Sports Are Direct Tie to MU Pride
School spirit is HUGE here. Football games in the fall and basketball games in the spring rule students' schedules and social lives. Professors do the M-I-Z, Z-O-U cheers prior to class. MASSIVE new student recreation center is award winning. SPORTS ARE A BIG DEAL at MU--a VERY big deal.

Great School All Around!
University of Missouri is well known for its School of Journalism--but it also has other notable courses of study. College of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition is quite unique and well developed. Environmental science and environmental studies is a growing focus at MU. College of Arts and Science offers a great personal, supportive atmosphere. I've had some wonderful professors who have really gone out of their way for students in effort to improve the quality of their academic and research experience at MU.

Greek Life
Greek Life is HUGE at Mizzou and can sometimes appear quite exclusive to non-Greek students. That said, MU is also a very large university so there are many groups to get involved with that aren't Greek. We have 500+ student clubs, for example! Intramurals are popular as well. Many, many opportunities to get involved outside of Greek Life.
