Colby really likes to pride itself on being diverse, and while there are some pretty fantastic, pretty "diverse" people, the truth is that there are more people who come from a very homogeneous, very privileged background. Some of these students are fantastic and humble about their upbringing, but the majority are fairly clueless and can't comprehend that some of us worry about finances, stick to a budget, pay our own tuition, and generally have to pull our own weight.

I Guess There Are Sports.
I'm not very involved in the sports aspect, but from what I can tell, sports are huge to those involved, and many athletes (especially those on true 'team sports' like football, soccer, and rugby; not track) tend to stick with their teammates, so you never really meet them. However, the athletic facilities and fitness classes are excellent (despite being far from campus) and are accessible to athletes and non-athletes alike.

It Doesn't Exist.
The a capella groups do like to think they function as fraternities/sororities, but having no Greek life is kind of nice, in my opinion.
