Facilities Are Second to None
Many students never take advantage for what they're paying for at JMU, which is sad, because JMU offers amazing facilities. UREC (University Recreation Center) offers several different activities, including fitness classes, two floors of weights and machines, as well as an indoor track, and a rock wall. The Student Union, also known as Taylor Down Under, offers a lot as well, including games, pool tables, a coffee shop, and live music weekly.

Greeks Aren't a Big Deal
JMU has several fraternities and sororities, but if it's not your thing, you're definitely not alone. Everyone can find a home at JMU, and no one will look at you any differently if you don't want to join Greek life.

PARKING SUCKS BOOTAY
First of all, NO FRESHMAN PARKING ON CAMPUS. There are private lots that you can use, but they're pretty far away. Secondly, the ticketing is crazy. I've heard stories of students and even professors leaving their cars for seconds, and coming back with a ticket. Seriously, either go to class early, or catch ths bus.

SO UNPREDICTABLE
Seriously, bring some serious winter gear, and a rain jacket, and boots, and a scarf, but wear layers. Also, it can be 30 degrees at 10am, 70 degrees and sunny at 2pm, and 20 degress and snowing at 7pm.

It's Okay
The academics are good, but you can find better. Seriously, the only reason why people go here is to drink every weekend. If you're not a borderline alcoholic, you'll probably be in the minority.
