Not Too Hot

Both the girls and the boys at MIT are not too attractive, although they make up for that with intelligence. Once in a while though, you can find one or two that are worth a double take.

Greek Life Is Huge

At MIT, more than half of boys and a good percentage of girls are a part of a frat or sorority. It's a big part of the school because frat parties dominate the socializing scene.

Academics Are Awesome

Obviously, MIT has a reputation for a solid science, math, and engineering curriculum. One thing that you don't hear is how easy it is to get help with the difficult coursework if you are struggling. There are tutors and TAs that are always willing to give up time to help you out. And in addition to being renowned scientists, researchers, and physicists, our professors are extremely approachable and are willing to not only talk with you about the class but also about their research or other things that interest them.

Either a Greek House or a Really Expensive Apartment

Apartments near campus are really easy to find in Boston - they are all over the place. However, the better option for off campus housing is a frat or sorority. Apartments are really expensive and sometimes don't have certain amenities (like a washer and dryer).

Drinking Is More Popular

In certain parts of campus, you can definitely find people that use every type of drug you can name. Usually, though, people stick to drinking. I have never heard of or encountered peer pressure to do drugs or drink.
