Local Atmosphere at Columbia University

A

New York City

The possibilities in NYC are endless. Whether interested in museum visits, Broadway shows, concerts or shopping, there is much to do. Even though NYC can seem overwhelming, there are actually many students and it is an easy city to navigate. The area around Columbia University is very student-friendly. A plus is that with your university ID, there are tons of attractions you can get in free of charge.

Off-Campus Dining at Columbia University

A+

Endless

Restaurants are probably what NYC has the most of. The Union Square area, which is where many of the NYU dorms are located, has a lot of great places to eat. Republic is one of my favorites, it’s a noodle shop. Zen Palate is also here; it’s vegetarian but it’s great. A lot of places are trendy but good. Oh, and Republic is cheap with moderate prices for drinks, too, by NYC standards.

Transportation at Columbia University

A+

Perfect!

Public transportations is very convenient and cheap. Subway and buses are very practical and, if ever in need, taxis are everywhere.
