While you will find many regular marijuana users hard drugs are not common at DePauw. It is college so there are some regular marijuana users as well as occasional ones. It is not uncommon to sight a group of guys smoking a joint outside at an inconspicuous location during the weekends or especially during winter term. For the most part students at DePauw follow the study hard - play hard technique. Most students excel academically because they focus during the week and then enjoy their weekends. Drinking is much more common than illegal drug use. It is here if you are looking for it and easy to avoid if you aren't. There is no peer pressure to do drugs here it is simply a choice some students make. The school takes drug use in dorms very seriously though - so be careful and do it/store it somewhere else.
