It's Still a City, Even If It's Small
On campus at UVM, I always feel safe and there are always plenty of people around. Blue Lights make everything more comfortable as well. Walking at night is always a little less comfortable, as a woman, but I have never had an issue. Walk in groups, pay attention to the health and safety emails that tell if an incident has occurred, usually downtown, and remember, it's a city, not everyone is in college and you have to be careful of the strange people you could encounter.

If You Know Someone
Since the bar scene is extremely strict, your best bet is a dorm party with your friends, or if you know upperclassmen, you could get to a house party off campus. Besides that, if you don't know anyone, you'll end up without much luck.

LOVING IT
I am currently a junior at UVM and I absolutely adore it. Downtown is fantastic, the view of Lake Champlain and the mountains are spectacular. My professors are incredible and truly interested in getting to know me and ensuring that I succeed. I have learned so much in my years here. I've been involved in clubs and organizations, volunteering, and now greek life as a junior and my worst experience is that my roommate snores. The environmental views of my peers and the hands-on experiences of my classes are great and the friends that I've made are as unique and interesting as the school. Go on a tour, fall in love, and never leave.
