What kind of students does NYU invite/accept to their liberal studies program? The website says students who would benefit from small classes. It sounds like an interesting program. If anyone has any more information please help. Thanks!

From what I know the liberal studies is for students that aren't quite sure what they want to do yet.

You don't usually apply into that. It's usually where they put people who they don't want to put into Tisch, CAS, or Gallatin yet. Not to offend anyone in the program but I got the impression that it's for people who almost didn't get in out of high school (and are undecided majors).

Does NYU prefer the SAT over the ACT? Which would be better to submit?

No preference. Submit the test you scored higher on.

NYU superscores the SAT but not the ACT. Why? I don't know. But keep that in mind!

How many people at NYU are from NYU are from the midwest? About what percentage?

The midwest is not particularly well represented, though there does seem to be a large pool of students from the Chicago area. Off-hand, it feels like 20-25% are from the Midwest.
