Diversity, Smarts, and Boots.
Diverse. We have alot of International students. Not to mention first-generation diversity. Ask around and 75% of the people you ask are probably Pre-Health (Med, OT, PT, Dentistry, Pharmacy, etc). Repping PITT is BIG. PITT attire is everywhere. So are yoga pants and rainboots. Mainly for girls.. But you never know. The variety of guys & girls is nice. Whatever you're looking for, we've got it here.

Don't Dorm Drink Dude
Obviously if you're under 21, it's illegal to drink. The RAs are pretty good at catching kids, and a first-time offense gets you a meeting with the RD. Repeated offenses are more serious, as the first time you just have to go to a group session or something minor. Being caught by PITT Police or Pittsburgh Police is more serious. They'll cite you, give you an underage, fine you, have you appear in court. It's bad news bears. The same with weed or other drugs, though alcohol is the big buster. Be smart, party off-campus or in the frats. Not in your dorm room. Also, don't puke in public, they get you that way too.

PITT Is the $H!T.
We are one of the ONLY schools with the Philosophy of Science major option. We are well-known for our science and research programs. We are very involved with UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) and offer TONS of student opportunites. Research experience is easily accessible. The campus is right outside the city, but is a "city" in itself. We have free public transportation via school IDs, reduced-price or free admittance to local art centers, museums, professional games and attractions. Our basketball team is #11 in the national this season. Life is good.

Dining Diversity
PITT dining is abundant. "Off-Campus" is beyond where you need to travel. All within campus limits there are TONS of restaurants. Forbes Ave is loaded with affordable options, convenient choices, places honoring our student ID Pather Funds, a variety of different cuisines. But even a short walk off of campus, to Craig Street, you will find evem more great places to grab a bite. Dining options are the LEAST of your worries. The biggest concern is WHERE to go today?

Awesome Aid
I got a nice scholarship as an Out-of-State student. PITT offers generous scholarships for academics, merit, or athletics. Applying early is key, and make sure you take your placement tests early in High School and multiple times. PITT will take your highest test scores and consider that for financial aid. The school also offers Grants, and if you're approved for Work Study, the positions can be great career training. I, myself have an amazing position as a lab assistant in a research lab in connection with UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center).
