I was wondering if there is much of a rave/EDM scene up there? Anything at all? Haha.
Just other people who might want to chill and listen to some house and trance, even?
I'm transferring up there from SoCal in Fall 2013 and it would be nice to know :)
Hard to Get Classes – Because of budget cuts, classes have been difficult to get into. This creates a panic during registration because even though students are given different shifts for registering, many classes are filled by the time anyone below senior level can register. The servers, unprepared for so many students to log on at the exact same time (the time their shift starts), are often full and inaccessible until other students finish and log out and sometimes they even crash, creating further panic from students afraid they won't be able to get the classes they need. Aside from that, the website is very efficient and easy to use, and allows you to search available classes while registering with no problems. Professors at the higher levels are passionate about what they teach, and can be known on a personal level given some effort. Professors teaching lower classes and basic general education classes are sometimes sub-par. Workload is very light, the school offers a writing center and tutoring center and rooms that can be rented out in the library for a private group study session. Programs for students with special needs - financially or academically - are efficient.
Great Programs – Fullerton College offers many resources to STEM majors, STEM standing for Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology. Especially once you get into upper level coursework ,the professors are engaging and personal and passionate about what they study. STEM advisers really care about their students and want them to do well. Both the Science Club and Engage in Stem program offer many extra-curricular activities including internships, volunteer experience, tours, lectures, and social events. They also offer exclusive scholarships to especially involved students at the end of each semester. The workload can get tough, but the curriculum is well thought out. The library, writing center, and tutoring center are very helpful to any student needing help from a peer or professional, or just a quiet room to study alone or with friends.
