Lots of Asians
There are many different ethnic backgrounds but the majority population is Asian and there is specifically a lot more Asian food because of it.However, there is still a large variety of ethnic groups and tons of international students.

Fiancial Aid Berkeley
I received a good amount of financial aid and it seemed reasonable to pay. Additionally, I applied to a lot of the scholarships offered by the school and I received one so I had to pay less money. The Financial Aid office was very easy to go too, there is generally a lot of people but the line goes by quickly.

Confusing Resistration Process
Berkeley uses Telebears to register for classes and I found it quiet confusing because you can not sign up for your classes all at one. There are 2 Phases. You sign for a couple classes in Phase 1, which is in the month of June and then sign for more in Phase 2 which is in August. I did not really like that system and think they should improve it.

Female Dressing Styles
Many of the girls here wear a lot of dresses. Berkeley has chilly weather but the months of August and September have proven to be quiet sunny. So make sure there are plenty of dresses and shorts in your closet, you will need them.

Dorms Are Strict
Berkeley is a very liberal school, but does place many restrictions on students. Incoming Freshmen get a first hand experience on this because dorms are very strict. Illegal possession of drugs, theft, and lack of respect for quiet hours will get you int trouble with the residential administrators. Underage drinking is a major issue addressed, we have to take a mandatory online awareness program on drinking.

Dining Halls
I live in Unit 2 and the closes dining hall is Crossroads. It is the dining hall I eat a the most because it is convenient and has the most room to eat at. They offer different cultural dishes. From chow mein to tamales and the traditional American classics of hamburgers and pizza. There is always pasta available, so if all else seems undesirable, your best bet is here.
