Facilities Are Great
The new McHenry library is awesome! The catalog is easy to search and there is a wide variety of materials available. There are plenty of great cafes on campus, I just wish they all accepted debit/credit cards. Bathrooms are generally clean and use eco-friendly toilets, sinks and dryers.

Lots of Choices!
Santa Cruz offers a wide variety of choices for off campus dining. There are not a lot of big chain or fast food restaurants, which I like! Most restaurants in the area offer plenty of choices for alternative diets, such as vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free.

Russian Program
This is my second semester here at UCSC, and so far I haven't met any other Russian majors. There is a lack of cultural context electives for the program. The history classes are interesting, there just needs to be more Russian studies courses offered.
