Challenging Yet Fun

Smith College may be famous for its heavy workload, yet I found that there is actually less work than high school. Instead, the work there is more challenging and intellectually engaging. There is virtually no busy work, which is something I love about Smith. When the work gets too tough or you start to feel stressed, professors are more than happy to schedule time to work with you one-on one. There are also excellent peer resources available. I have learned more at Smith in one semester than I ever would have thought possible in high school. Most importantly, Smith is a supportive environment where students can truly enjoy learning.

Lots of Lovely Libraries

Smith has four libraries and three special book collections. Three of the libraries are specialized in the arts, performing arts, and sciences. The main library offers both quiet rooms for private study, and rooms where one can talk. The library staff are very helpful.

Good Financial Aid, but Still Expensive!

Smith offers very good financial aid and scholarships, but it is still an expensive school. However, if you honestly need the financial aid, you will get it. There are also a lot of work study options for students with financial aid.
