Totally Safe
There have only been a few incidents I have heard of about there being any trouble at Tampa but none of the incidents were on campus. Campus security if always driving around and the dorm life is very safe and they keep things under control.

All Dorms Are Nice
The dorms at the University of Tampa are very nice. Upperclassmen get the best housing but the underclassmen dorms are reasonable and they keep them in good condition. People at the University of Tampa are very friendly and easy to get along with. It will be very easy for any new student to quickly make friends.

Apartments
Apartments close to the University of Tampa are very pricey because the University if located in the city and in the heart of Tampa where all the big events are held. If you do happen to find an apartment they are reasonably close but it would be a good walk to the campus. It would be best to take a bus or have a car.
