Alcohol Is Bigger
The drug use at the school seems to be very low key. You don't see much, if at all around campus. People definitely prefer to drink than anything else.

Not So Strict
If you're found on campus using alcohol you will be punished severely, but if you're off campus there's usually no problem. You just have to be sure that if you're drinking you're not causing problems or doing anything destructive.

Great People
I have to say that Slippery Rock is a great place for making new friends. It's a very diverse campus and people are very open to making new friends. Plus there are many organizations to get involved in that allow you to meet new people!

Bob's Subs
Being that Slippery Rock is kind of in the middle of nowhere there aren't too many places to eat necessarily near campus. However, on Main St. exists Bob's Subs, which is a favorite of many students. It's a small place and only accepts payment in cash. The subs are delicious and the prices are good. Definitely a great place to go.

Lots of Options
There are many options that people have to choose from. Most of the apartments that are really close to campus are on the expensive side. There are many other apartments though that are a long walk or short drive that can be cheaper. Also, a word of warning, avoid SRU Towers. It may be really cheap, but it's really not worth it!

Class Scheduling
After transferring to Slippery Rock I had an idea of what scheduling for the next semester would be like. However, I found that it was vastly different and that Slippery Rock actually had made it more difficult. They are updating things to make it easier, but it's still not as good as I believe it could be.

Easy Access
Despite a few outlying buildings the entire campus is relatively easy to get around on foot. Most people have their classes in the quad and even when a class isn't in the quad, it's not hard to get to. Plus, the student shuttles run on a nice schedule to get you around campus or off-campus.

Campus Shuttles
The school runs two shuttles during the day and one at night. During the day one bus stays to an on-campus route while the other goes on and off campus to provide access to the apartments off campus. At night there is one shuttle that does both, this is good for anyone who goes off campus to drink, but cannot get back on their own. It makes it safe for people to get to and from the party and their place of residence.
