Little Diversity on Campus
It would only take you a day on campus to realize that the people at Elon are predominately white, from the North, and extremely preppy. That being said, there are minority groups represented on campus, but they just are in very small amounts. From personal experience, I can say it is extremely hard to find your niche here if you are not preppy or if you possess unique ideals, as most students here are not accepting of ideas that contrast their's. Overall, I would simply not recommend attending Elon if you are not preppy or want to go to a diverse campus.

Drinking Is a Way of Life at Elon
Alcohol is HUGE on campus here at Elon and dominates the drug scene. Frats and other parties make alcohol easily accessible to underaged minors, who (trust me) take advantage of the opportunity. Not choosing to drink, I have had a hard time enjoying Elon's social scene, which I believe is quite unfortunate.
Other than alcohol, marijuana is the most common drug used.

Not for Me
Just as it advertises, Elon is an amazing school where engaged learning is not only stressed, but required through the Elon Experiences. Although the campus is a bit of a mess due to construction, it is campus nonetheless one of the most amazing in the world, possessing both beauty and state-of-the-art facilities. However, many of the academic programs are small, as Elon has yet to come into its own, which diminishes the amount of courses and opportunities available for some majors. To say the least, Elon is also a huge party school, and from what I have seen, people have no problem finding a party. While Elon states that there are other opportunities available for the non-drinking student (like myself), these opportunities are very few and for the most part unappealing, leaving me bored and wanting to go home most weekends. Most of the clubs and organizations on campus also only meet once a month, and some of the ones I have encountered have been so disorganized that they have yet to begin, although halfway through the semester. Personally, I am choosing to leave Elon, but it could be the school for you!
