Loyola Is Kind of Scary
Sure, there are campus police driving around and those blue emergency button things everywhere. But Rogers Park is a sketchy neighborhood. Students get mugged. It happens. But if you're smart you'll be okay. Never walk alone at night, stick to well-lit main roads rather than deserted alleys, and pay attention to your surroundings. And always lock your door.

Overpriced as Hell.
Loyola dorms are ridiculous. They don't let you move off campus until you are a junior. And guess what? It costs about $4000 to $5000 a semester to live on campus, including the meal plan they force you to have. Living off campus is about $2000-$3000 a semester. The dorms are nicer than those at most colleges, but still smaller than an off-campus apartment.

Chicago Makes It Worth It
Loyola is pricey, and sometimes the administrative offices suck. But many of the professors are great, the students are generally nice, and Loyola does have a pretty good academic reputation. Best of all, I am going to school in the greatest city in the country, and that makes it worth it.
