Sports Are Not a Priority
Hockey games are a lot of fun, and our only D1 sport. Otherwise, very few people go to games, but those that do have a lot of school spirit.

Always a Way to Get There
No matter where you want to go near RPI, you can get there. There is a train station 15 minutes away, and bus stops right on campus. If you want to walk to the city of Troy it's only a ten minute walk. Schedules for public transportation are posted everywhere.

Long Cold Winters
The winters are long and very cold, but there's not too much snow. It doesn't rain that often, and never gets too hot.

Troy-Great Day, Unsure Night
Troy is a great little town, during the day. There are lots of festivals throughout the year, a farmers market, and cute little shops. There are very few restaurants however, and at night downtown is a bit scary

Very Safe
I've never felt unsafe at RPI. Public safety patrolls all the time and there are blue lights all over campus. You can call for a ride if need be. There are always students around

Study Hard, Party Hard
RPI is an elite school with a great reputation for academics. Students need a chance to blow off steam on the weekends as a result. There are always parties going on, but you're more likely to get in if you are female, as the guy to girl ratio is pretty poor
