Gainesville Has the BEST Local Eats!
The off campus dining in Gainesville is great! They have a great mix of chain restaurants, but what's even better are the local places to eat. Many of these places are fair to moderate prices but the food makes up for any money you'll spend. The downtown and NW/NE parts of Gainesville have great eats, some are even close to campus. Check out: Bistro1245, Boca Fiesta, Cafe C, The Midnight has great drink specials on Tues/Wed and a great place to go for amazing deep dish pizza is Satchels. They have a junk shop in the back with cute trinkets, you can sit in an old bus and enjoy your meal. They even a live band playing some evenings!

Pretty Diverse School
It seems like every race is represented here at UF. It is still a predominantly white school, but at times you can find yourself in a large cluster of people from Korea, India, or Haiti! The student organizations representing these cultures are large, and they compete in talent showcases, and display their heritages across campus. However, even though many races are represented here at UF, I still find myself being one of the few black people in many of my classes.

Too Many Cars, Not Enough Spaces
The parking on campus is ridiculous. There are tons of parking spaces, but not enough of them are allotted to student decals. The parking office sells more decals than there are parking spaces. These decals are also expensive. The parking enforcement is also bad as well, they ticket extremely frequently and each ticket are upwards of $30. Even in the parking garages that students pay per day/per hour is pretty bad, you have to either get to campus extremely early or circle the garage for a while before finding parking.
