Campus Dining at Rochester Institute of Technology

A

RIT's Food Places, Etc..

Gracies: Ew. The only good things that are there are, honestly, the things you make yourself. Like waffles.

Dining Commons: AMAZINGGGG. Love their pasta.

Nathan's: Very good. Their soup is really tasty and they always have different kinds too ^^

CtrlAltDeli: Yummy as well :)

Salsarita's: LOVE DA BURRITO! Their nacho chips are really good too :D

We also have some little convenience stores on campus like Sol's and the Corner Store. They're handy places. Sol's sells more of school supplies and cleaning supplies, and a little food. The Corner Store sells a lot of food. (I know, descriptive, but that's what they sell..)

Oh, and at all o these places, you have the option of using a meal option, debit, or RIT's Tiger Bucks.

Academics at Rochester Institute of Technology

A+

RIT's 3D Digital Graphics Program

We're such a small major!! When I first came into the program I was really nervous about what it would be like, but it turns out that everybody is really friendly and inviting! The upperclassmen got me and a few friends involved in our school's SIGGRAPH branch that is entirely run by students. Also, there are lab hours in our 3D lab, and there's always somebody to help you out and answer questions! Previous experience with 3D modeling software (Like Autodesk Maya or Max) would have been helpful to me (as I had never touched the stuff in my life, previously), but I'm getting along just fine and the intro courses are just at my level of difficulty. The professors in my major are all really friendly and nice. They won't bite your head off and they don't give projects that are too unreasonable.

Campus Housing at Rochester Institute of Technology

RIT Dorms

Dorms are an interesting culture. I'd say culture because there's nothing else like it in the world. People staying up and yelling and playing loud music till 2:30 or 3 in the morning is completely normal. Also normal is spontaneous nudity. It happens. The nice thing is that all your friends are right there with you and if you want to go visit them at midnight and watch a movie, hey, why not? Nobody's there to say you can't. Yes, there are quiet hours here, and it's nice when people respect them, but that doesn't always happen. The Special Interest houses (especially Art House!!!) are really nice too!

As a reminder: There will probably be people who don't shower and don't clean up after themselves and live like pigs. It's a fact of life. I dealt with a few.

And if you happen to want to switch dorms like I did, the process is remarkably easy. It takes a few weeks but it's not too bad.

Guys & Girls at Rochester Institute of Technology

B-

RIT

There's a huge gap in the amount of guys here versus the amount of girls here. I'd say that you'll find the most girls in the more artistic departments if it's girls you're looking for. Guys, on the other hand, are everywhere. You also have to watch out because there's quite a high population of people with next to no social skills at all. But there are some very nice people here. Also, many many hipsters.
