Great Options
Virginia Tech and the town of Blacksburg always have something to do. Whether you attend a concert or event at the Lyric Theater, shop for local produce at the farmer's market, or go late night bowling at Squires, you literally have limitless options. The atmosphere is great too. Everyone is so friendly and courteous!

Parking Nightmares!
First of all there are only two lots for resident parking. Each of them are at least a 10 minute walk if not more from the dorm rooms. For commuter parking, you have to get to campus really early to get a good spot or sometimes even a spot at all. Parking fines can be expensive so make sure you are in the right lot and have your permit displayed. However, the university is building a new parking garage on campus so these problems should be alleviated sometime in the near future.
