Economics Department Is Rapidly Improving
As an econ major over the past few years I have had to suffer through a fair share of boring classes, but the professors that have recently been hired are top notch. They really seem to care about how well the students are doing and are very accomplished compared to other schools. Also, none of the economics majors I knew had any trouble getting a very good job coming out of school.

Off-Campus Options Are Affordable and Easy to Find.
In the last few years there have been quite a few new town homes and apartment buildings built, so there is some nice housing options. There are also plenty of student houses in residential areas for fairly cheap, although some can be in some-what shady areas. I would say overall the off-campus options are very adequate for demand.

Notre Dame Athletics Are World-Class!
If you like sports, ND is the place to be. Everything to do with the athletics is near the top of the NCAA. Besides the recent struggles of the football team, the sports teams are all at least top 25 programs. The best part is the school spirit though.
