Local Atmosphere at University of Virginia

A

Different from City Life

I'm from the city and coming to a suburban, less quiet, place like Charlottesville has been a great experience for me. This place is like a community, which is what I really love about it. Granted, it lacks some things that city life offers but there are still much to do here - it just depends on what you want to do. You can go shop, eat, hang out, party, etc.

Computers at University of Virginia

A

Accessible Computers

Computers are really accessible here. There are several libraries on grounds that you can go to and print things out. Computers aren't always available but if you wait a few minutes (depends on what time of the day/semester you're there), you can pretty much get to use a computer. Most people bring their own laptops with them since it's just so much easier. The network is pretty fast; sometimes, there are stoppages but that's understandable. After all, thousands of students are accessing the same network.

Parking at University of Virginia

B

No Car for First Years

For your first year, you're required to live on grounds, as if with most colleges, so you're not allowed to bring your car with you. Most people feel the need to bring their own cars but I know that you'd have to pay for parking. It's not terribly bad to find parking and it's not too crowded but it does depend on what time of day/semester.
