For the living/learning communities where you get to pick your own room, do you get some kind of map of the layout of the dorm to help you pick the room? Right now there isn't that option when looking at the dorms page.

I did not live in a learning community, but I have friends who lived in a learning community and they did not get to pick their own rooms - rooms were assigned to them like they would be in regular dormitories.

I know that for Chadborne anyway, it did say that if they got in there, they could pick their own room from 4/24 to May something. Just curious.

Does anyone recommend taking their bike to school or is it better not to?

I do not use a bike because I prefer to walk but I know many people who do use them. If you live far away from your classes, you will probably want to bring one.

I live on campus so I mostly walk to places on campus. However I do enjoy using my bike sometimes. It can just be a hassle finding a place to lock it up. Madison does have a nice bike trail that I ride on in the summer, fall, and spring.

For those who have lived in Ogg or Smith....Do freshman usually get paired up with other freshman? What are the chances of having to room with an upperclassman?

none

None meaning that there is no chance you will be paired with a soph, jr or Sr.????Are you presently a student there? What dorm are you in, if you are?
