Generally Okay
Pittsburgh doesn't get a lot of extreme weather such as heavy rain, hurricanes, blizzards, etc. The worst are the temperature extremes in the fall and spring, the dreary winter, and sometimes sticking humidity of summer. Other than that, it offers a nice variety. In the fall (and spring) you can have 3 rainy days in a row then followed by 3 days of sunshine and blue skies. Sometimes you can go from overcast to sunshine to rain to sunshine all in one day! Lastly, the sun shines during mid spring - mid fall, then the winter dreariness kicks in til about March/April. Pack everything!

Winters are Sunshine Free!
Take advantage and enjoy the nice sunny days in the fall and spring because come winter, the sun RARELY comes out. The winter cloud-cover is never ending and if you have seasonal depression you will really want to think this one hard. Of course on the flip side, when spring rolls around and the sun is out on a regular basis, it's truly a refreshing feeling.
