Salt Lake City Living
Most people think of Salt Lake City as the ski capitol or the Mormon capitol of the U.S. Salt Lake is actually a very hip, liberal city with a rocking nightlife and beautiful neighborhoods. The mountains are 15 minutes away and we're close to 12 ski resorts. You can't beat the view from the University of Utah campus -- the mountains, valley, and Great Salt Lake are breathtaking.

Cheap, but Old Apartments Abound in SLC
There are many apartments to be found in SLC. All the good ones are on Craigslist or KSL -- by good ones, I mean cheap, but old. Don't expect dishwashers or washer/dryers or elevators. If you want a nicer apartment in a complex with those amenities and a pool, expect to pay at least $800 or more a month for a studio or one bedroom.

Great If You're 21 and Live Off the U's Dry Campus
There is virtually no nightlife on the University of Utah campus -- it is a dry campus. Greek Row (located off campus) has fun parties and it's great to join a sorority or fraternity if you're underage and looking for a good nightlife. Otherwise, expect some smuggled booze in the dorms or people quickly moving off campus because, even if you're twenty one, you can't have booze if you live on campus. Once you're twenty one and have your own place off campus, the bar scene is excellent.
