Facilities at University of Connecticut

A-

Library

The library is great; it has quite a few "study" floors, some strictly quiet floors, some where noise is permissable. There are help centers for writing and Q (quantitative) courses if you're looking for some homework help. There is even a cafe downstairs that's open late for those who are up late studying for that exam or writing that research paper. Although the library is great for studying and homework during the year, I would advise against going there during finals; even though it is open 24 hrs a day, every day through final exams, it's hard to find a table with an outlet for your laptop or a nice area to study as it gets REALLY crowded.

Transportation at University of Connecticut

A

Buses

At UConn, there are multiple bus routes getting you generally anywhere you need to be. Sometimes they might take some time, but they are usually on time, and they are free for everyone, no school ID needed, which is GREAT. The buses run until late at night, and usually only get packed when it's pouring rain out.

Overall Experience at University of Connecticut

A

It's Amazing Here

UConn has probably one of the most diverse and unique student bodies of any university. When I was first picking colleges, I did NOT want to come here; it seemed too big and too crowded. But once I started here, I found that you end up making tons of friends, in classes, in organizations, and in your own dorm building. There are a lot of parties on the weekends, but a lot of students here are dedicated to their education and will resist the festivities if they have work to do, which is a great atmosphere to be in; to not feel pressured to party, and that it's ok, it's not nerdy to be studying all the time. The students at UConn have a lot of school spirit and it's really cool to feel a part of everything that happens here on campus.
