Academics at Florida State University

B

At Least It's Not UF.

A fairly average experience compared to other schools I've attended. My own department didn't have an advisor and so our snarky gay secretary did all of the advising (and badly!), the professors were well-trained but often disinterested in your problems, and the work load wasn't terrible either. As for study spots, Club Stroz! All the kids are on uppers like at a real nightclub and they hand out sunglasses and other fun things during exam weeks. (The Starbucks at Stroz is double countered and 24 hours, too.)

Campus Dining at Florida State University

B-

Eh, It's College Food.

Fresh Food was my jam as a freshman. Since I lived at Salley Hall, it was just a hop, skip and a jump away. The inside of the Suwannee Room is reminiscent of Hogwarts' dining hall, too. You can use the flexbucks or Garnetbucks at most of the eateries on campus, which is good for a little variety. Avoid the stirfry place unless you're getting sushi.

Diversity at Florida State University

B+

Diverse, Like the Rest of Florida

FSU is fondly referred to as the Berkeley of the South. We have a smattering of political backgrounds, from Tea Partiers to the leftist radicals (who throw a neat Radical Rush biannually); student unions for various religious groups, ethnicities and sexual orientations (think PRIDE Student Union) and are working to be the most veteran friendly school in the Southeast. Students range from rednecks that crawled out of Wakulla to rich kids from Miami-Dade.
