Not Great
There are two dining halls on campus: the Rat is all-you-can-eat and the food is decent, but at times pretty unappealing. They always have some good looking desserts, though, including frozen yogurt. The Lair has fixed options at different stations, but you can only get around $6 worth of food if you want it to count on meal plan, and it is pretty ridiculous how few of the food options are $6 or under. It's incredibly frustrating.

Can Avoid It
I've heard about people smoking weed and it's not rare to pass by rooms and know they're smoking, but it's been easy for me to avoid it. Drinking is more popular, what with the Greek life and all. There are definitely groups of people on campus that don't participate in that as well, though. It's definitely there, but there isn't much peer pressure. The campus isn't too strict about it, but it is easy to avoid.

Plenty of Volunteer Opportunities
There are a plethora of volunteer opportunities (we are in Memphis, after all) in many areas (tutoring, homelessness, violence&peace, Hispanic population, and LGBT rights, to name a few); you are bound to find something you are passionate about and volunteer. It helps you connect with Memphis and with other Rhodes students, who are invariably volunteering as well. It's a wonderful way to give back to the city and get some time off campus.
