Academics at Rhodes College

A

Academic Rigor

Rhodes is not a school where you can skip classes and do well, but if you put in effort you'll do well. There are hard and easy classes depending on the teachers, so you have to get the right teachers to get easy professors on foundations classes and harder, better professors on classes pertaining to your major. If you do well at Rhodes, though, you will be more successful leaving college to find a job, go to graduate school, medical school, etc.

Transportation at Rhodes College

B-

Not a Big Deal

Students just walk or bike around campus. Parking permits are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive and tickets are extremely unreasonable as well. There's also never any parking spots during the day on weekdays and it will only get worse with the construction and growing freshman classes.

Scholarships at Rhodes College

D

Stingy

Rhodes is extremely expensive, doesn't offer a lot of academic scholarships (mostly loans, not scholarships), and is constantly asking for donations. They increase tuition by thousands each year and do not compensate for the students that were already going there. Then, at the same time they decrease the quality of other things to save money like smaller Lair cups and limited amount of cheese on personal pizzas. Not to mention they freeze you in the winter and cook you in the summer to save money on heat and air conditioning. The dorms are also terrible. Rhodes students pay four times the amount of tuition that an in-state university, but receive less benefits than university students.
