Off Campus Living
Off-Campus living has several perks. The first being a little bit more freedom, you are not under the rules of the University. In general renting an apartment is cheaper than living in the nicest dorm on campus that has a kitchen and bathroom in each dorm room. However, there are some cons to off campus living. If you want a decent place to live you need to start looking early. The good apartments get snatched up fast! Another con is that the apartments that are close to campus can run very expensive. Parking is also a big issue, the whole city has very limited parking, and to get a space you have to be willing to pay.

Hawkeyes Are #1
University of Iowa has amazing sports. First of all there are a huge variety. Football is by far the pride and joy of the school. The program is very good, and school spirit is outrageous. People will come from all over the state of Iowa to support the Hawkeyes!

Best Experience.
University of Iowa is by far the college of my dreams. When applying for colleges I never even considered attending a school in Iowa. After attending an Iowa football game and seeing the immense support from fans I decided to take a visit to the campus. When I arrived I felt at home. I knew that this was the place I needed to be. After my first year there I am still in love with it. The campus is beautiful, the teachers are amazing. Classes are fun, and interesting. The social aspect is above and beyond. I have made some real life long friends at Iowa.

The River Room
The River Room is located in the IMU on campus. If you are sick of eating at Burge and Hillcrest, The River Room is the BEST alternative. The food is amazing, large portions, and the best part is that you can use flex and U-Bill to pay for it! This is a great alternative to mix up your meals without spending money.

Cambus Will Save Your Life
Using cars on campus is basically a no-go. There are no parking spaces anywhere, and when you can find one you have to pay for the meter. The cambus runs from 6am-1230am. It goes to all areas of campus. It is great in the winter, and the rain, two things Iowa is famous for. The best part is that cambus is free!

Downtown
University of Iowa is different from most colleges because it is built right downtown Iowa City. The buildings themselves have historical values that create an atmosphere like no other campus. But the best part of being located downtown is that you get a taste of local culture. You can walk around and experience things that are not college related. It definitely makes U of Iowa one of the more unique campuses.
