Pittsburgh Weather Is Bi-Polar
Living in downtown Pittsburgh can be awesome, but the weather on campus sure does put a damper on that. It gets VERY cold, often times with snow and/or rain. And, living high above the city on the bluff makes for very windy conditions, only adding to the nasty winters. They are very good with clearing the sidewalks/walkways early and quickly, so classes don't get cancelled much, only for huge city-wide blizzards. Early fall and late spring are great for hanging out outside when the weather's still warm!

I Love Duquesne!
Duquesne is awesome! The incredible education you get is hard to find nowadays, and with the great location in downtown Pittsburgh, there's always something to do, whether it be in the Southside, Oakland, or even right on campus! Make sure you keep up on your work, though, before you have too much fun, because Duquesne has some great programs that require lots of studying! While the cost may look sky high, the education and perfect college experience will greatly outweigh that!

Lots of Majors!
Duquesne has a wide variety of majors - everything from the liberal arts - classics, sociology, psychology, journalism, math, history, etc - to specialized sciences & health fields - biology, environmental chemistry, athletic training, physical therapy, physics - you name it! Also, the Nursing program is great, as are the Law, Music, Education, and Business schools.
Many of the programs are very invested in helping their students find not only internships, but job placements after graduation.

Not Too Many Options...
Unless you want to take a bus/subway ride, there isn't much in regards to dining close by to campus. There's a few fast food & pizza places close by, but those get redundant. The Southside neighborhood (just across the Monongahela River from campus) has an endless amount of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars to choose from - many of which are extremely affordable and delicious! One of my personal favorites is Double Wide Grill in southside, which has sort of a tex-mex, southwestern grill flair to it!

Lots of Money, Not to Much to Give Out.
Duquesne is very well endowed, and have a lot of money to their name. While many students here have some sort of academic scholarship, paying for tuition is difficult, due to the high cost. The financial aid office is always willing to help you out, but there aren't many scholarships specifically for Duquesne. I know a lot of students need to take out additional loans to cover the cost of tuition.

I Love My Program
All of the health science programs here at Duquesne - Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician's Assistant, Athletic Training, Speech-Language Pathology, Health Management Systems, and Rehabilitation Sciences - are top notch. You gain an in depth knowledge of science and the human body, as well as specialized knowledge in your field. Also, you are given internship, shadowing, and in service hours to get yourself acquainted with the program and what that profession actually does. You are usually taught by someone who specializes in your field, as well. And, Duquesne is very helpful in finding you a job in your field after graduation.
