Campus Housing at West Virginia University

Housing

Housing isn't TERRIBLE, but it's not good either. You may come and go whenever you'd like, but they are strict. After quiet hours, RA's will complain and write you up if you're making remotely anything close to noise. Many people are caught drinking in their dorm and given at the very least 10 hours of community service. The guest policy is terrible. If you do not live in the residence hall, you must be signed in past 9 by someone that lives there of the same sex as you. The latest you can sign someone in is 12 to avoid you bringing "guests back to your room". If you want to sign your boyfriend or girlfriend in you must find a boy or girl to do it, because those of the opposite sex cannot. The food is terrible. If you live on the evansdale campus, good luck getting to your classes or downtown in general. Living downtown will make your live 20x easier, however after freshman year you will not and probably cannot live in a dorm, so unless you get a house you'll have to get an apartment, most of them being very far from campus. If you chose to dorm downtown, live in boreman! (or dadisman if you can get in, but freshman usually can't stay there). Boreman has the most convenient location and the best food.

Nightlife at West Virginia University

Nightlife

You will never have a bad time at WVU. Ever. It's easy to drink underage, if you're a girl the parties are free and always welcome to new people. There is no "invite only" parties. There are blocks and blocks of parties, plenty of bars, over 21 and under, and plenty of opportunities for fun. If you are not having a good time here, then you must be doing something very wrong.

Campus Strictness at West Virginia University

Strictness

This school is not strict. I have been at crazy parties where the cops just drive by, and then give someone a ticket for speeding, parking, etc. If the cops do come, they are nice and understanding. However, if you are rude and doing something wrong, they can bring you to jail, which is 2 hours away and from what I hear absolutely miserable.
