Its in a Freaking City!
Atlanta is one of the most happening cities on the East Coast, and easily the biggest one's in the south. There is so much to do, that it is hard to understand how anyone can be bored. All major concerts come to Atlanta. The Georgia Dome (Atlanta Falcons) and Philip's Arena (Atlanta Thrashers and Hawks) are just a short walk off campus. There are many restaurants nearby campus, as Atlantic Station (nearby restaurant hub w/ movie theater) is quickly growing. Anything not accessible by walking can usually be reached by MARTA city train, or taxi (if you are willing to pay for it).

Almost Good...
As far as Campus Dining goes, it is no surprise that many students take advantage of their kitchen after their freshmen year. The food certainly isn't bad, and occasionally will surprise you, however students quickly grow tired of double cheeseburgers and burritos from Brittain (dining hall), and start eating out or in the student center food court. All Freshmen should have a meal plan, but I would definitely recommend the Plus Five plan. This way, you can eat unlimited food from the dining halls, but also an additional five free meals from the Student Center Food Court or campus food markets.

Definitely Available....
Most people have no difficult finding a house or apartment just off campus for a relatively affordable price. Split between roommates, houses are generally cheaper per person than the apartments are. Off campus houses are not for nervous people, as they do generally tend to neighbor more shady Atlanta residents.

GT Police Are Awesome, but Atlanta Is Not
I mean hey, GT has a SWAT team, and Georgia Tech is pretty much a bubble that remains relatively safe. If you venture two feet outside the campus perimeter, you're on your own. Good luck!

Freshman Housing Builds Character
Most freshman dorms are nearly a hundred years old and are an arctic tundra during the summer and the sahara desert during the winter. No, I didn't get those mixed up. That aside, GT has a sweet deal for upperclassman housing. The 1996 Olympic Games gave birth to North Avenue Apartments, which were the then-Olympic Village. Second-year students have a 75% chance at these sweet dorms, so it's pretty nice.

Atlanta? Try Atlantis
I mean, i've heard of there being good weather here, Atlanta was going through a drought when I first arrived here. However, it has been nothing but rain since I arrived. Although, when its nice here, its REALLY nice.

You'll Learn What "The Ratio" Is....
"The Ratio" is a common Georgia Tech term describing the lack of girls on campus. Currently, its a little less than 2 guys to every girl, but a lot of the girls here are either international or... well, engineering students. Don't get me wrong, there are hot girls, and if you join a fraternity you might get to talk to one.
As for guys, there are plenty, and of all types. Definitely not a bad ratio for prospective female students.

Possibilities Are Endless...
...especially if you're 21. There are plenty of bars and clubs, some that even accept 18+. Within walking distance of campus are restaurants, sports arenas, bars, movie theaters, strip clubs, you name it!
As far as on campus, the best way to find parties is to be active in clubs or greek life. If you pledge a fraternity/sorority, you will never have a problem finding a party, especially on the weekend. Some fraternities are snobby towards non-greek men, as they are threatened by the competition. However, doing club sports or any other group activity is a great way to meet people, which will undoubtably lead you to fun offcampus parties.

If Possible, Don't Drive
There is lots of public and school provided transportation, and parking can be an expensive nightmare on campus. The GT police are vigilant about ticketing drivers who aren't allowed to park on campus, and there are never any spots.

Engineering at Its Finest
Although most entry level classes are taught in large lecture halls my professors with thick accents, they are often followed by amazing helpful recitation sessions with outrageously clear and brilliant TAs. Classes are tough, but if you can make it at Georgia Tech, then you deserve the well-respected diploma you will earn upon leaving.

Helluva Engineer
Georgia Tech is the number 4 engineering school in the nation according to Princeton Review. Although being an engineering major is extremely challenging, and will result in many all-nighters at the library, the education is first-rate, and people respect you for going here.

Fastest Internet I Will Ever Have.
Georgia Tech wireless internet service stretches across the entire campus, and is accessible as long you are on campus property. Wireless is extremely fast, but only about a tenth as fast as the wired service which is offered within the housing facilities, which is lightning fast.
Computers are everywhere, and available since every student is required to own a relatively high-end laptop.
