For my freshman year I am planning to live in the dorms. I was wondering what are the best dorms or freshman? Like good scenery, social life and overall best?(Advatages/Disadvantages)

Phelan is the nicest, but pretty dull. Live in hayes.

How is the party scene at USF? On and off of campus? Frats/Sororites? House parties? etc.

There are little to no parties on campus. A few house parties nearby on occasion. Most parties happen near SFSU.

Do USF students often go to SFSU for these parties?

its kind of a long bus ride, but if you are social enough you are sure to find a house party close by

How far away is USF from the beach? Can you see like the water and everything from campus or close by?

I believe its around 5 minutes away and at certain parts of the campus you can see the bay

you can see the bay from part of campus. and the golden gate from other parts

Its not that close. Ocean beach is maybe a 30 min bus ride. Baker beach is about 30 mins and 2 busses.

Are they're many bars and parties at night? Also are freshman allowed to live in an apartment or have to be in a fraternity/sorority/dorm? Thanks!

There are a lot of frat parties, especially on Thursday and the weekends. There's really only two bars to go to, and students (under 21) can only get in on Thursday nights.

You can live pretty much anywhere as a freshman. I don't think you can live in frat/sorority house until your second year or semester (I think).
