Dorms Get Better as You Get Older
Housing is pretty good on campus. Underclassmen dorms (especially as of late) are not great because they are made of cinder block and many are forced triples. The Oldest building, Mary Fisher, is mostly for upperclassmen and is spacious (especially in terms of closet space), but no air conditioning. Welsh Hall and Sondheim are probably the nicest two dorms, but that is also because they are the newest of the dorms. However, the community feeling lacks in these dorms.

New Rules, Less Parties
They have gotten more strict recently on loud parties and the use of alcohol, but that was mostly in reaction to many students being taken to the hospital for alcohol related issues as well as a spike in drunken vandalism. I think currently the strictness is moderate, but the social/party scene on the weekends has definitely started to fizzle as a result of these new rules.

Money Is No Sweat
I received a good financial aid package coming in and it was actually one of the deciding factors for me going here. I have had no issue with obtaining and renewing it since it was guaranteed to me for my 4 years as long as I maintained a certain GPA. I have also revived some sort of monetary award for when I studied abroad as well as for the 2 internships I completed. Goucher really wants its students to experience the outside world and they are very generous and make it easy to make it a financial reality.
